BBQ Spanish Sleep

Hi Amazing Peeps,

Today was a simple day.

We slept in.

Mr. Rudder came over and took number 3-7 over to look at the rowing boats. Then talked to us about our sailing plans. He offered us the use of the rowing club hot showers. I was grateful but declined as he admitted that people would freak out over so many people over there at once.

Steve then walked to Lane Cove Woolies 3 kms away (no buses on a public holiday here). He picked up some extra stuff for our lunch today and once he returned, we found ourselves actually ready on time. SHOCK!

I had made our lunch BBQ for 12:30 and we got there right on time. There was another family cooking on one of the hot plates but the other was free.

We struck up a conversation and shared stuff. They used our oil, we used their foil and it did not end in one big broil.

HA HA HA I had to add the rhyme.

Robyn then arrived with her signature smile. As well as crackers, pâtè, cheese and wine, she also brought some pork sausages.

We, well I should say Tash, had made some chicken schnitzels which were B.E.A.UTIFUL! Mrs. Robyn had 2 and mentioned how good they were. Great work Tash!

We then sat and ate cheese, pâtè, crackers and drank wine, while the kids ran themselves silly.

Just before we left, Tash met a South American couple with their daughter. She spent about an hour talking Spanish to them. Tash was so happy to meet some Spanish speaking people, she was crying for joy. It was beautiful to see her in her element.

The family (I can’t remember their names) were full of praise for Tasha’s ability and even said her accent was amazing. Tash was over the moon. We left the park with Tash bouncing along with us telling all that she had learned.

Steve brought the dinghy around to Longueville dock and picked up the first round of kids. I was in the second round and once aboard, I was ready for bed. I seem to be saying that a lot lately.

Some of the kids were hungry again so we finished off the night with sandwiches before getting them into bed.

They swore that they were not tired yet fell asleep within minutes.

Alec “reading.” I’m sure Jonathan Livingston Seagull wont mind.

We are sitting up for a bit, enjoying the quiet before we head to bed.

Tomorrow was meant to be a big day but we are unsure now. We NEED another dinghy. An inflatable is what we are after. There is a good one in Newcastle and Steve was/is going to hire a truck and take a trip……it is open ended right now. We will see what happens.

Regardless, we have a HUGE week ahead.

Tuesday – If Steve goes to Newcastle, he will look at an outboard up their too and not be back till later.

Wednesday – We return the truck then move back to Blackwattle Bay.

Thursday – We are meeting Sean, Mel and their Elegant Flower again. We first met them in Cronulla. We haven’t been able to catch up for ages.

Friday – we catch up with Val – super looking forward to seeing them again.

Saturday – we go to Manly to stock up (we love ALDI) then sail up through Spit Bridge to Northbridge to farewell Kairos for their trip to Tassie and beyond.

We feel like tourists with full itineraries HA HA HA!

Well better sleep now.
